To be a successful professional, one needs not just technical skills but also strong moral values, because:

• Goals and Purposes: Values such as love, compassion and kindness help people in determining aims which are for the betterment of the human race and directed towards accomplishing human endeavours of great causes.

Right values help people in aligning their aspirations with the happiness of others as well. Corruption, nepotism, partiality etc. exist in society because of lack of strong moral character in the individuals.
• Mutual trust: Values such as integrity and honesty make a professional consistent in their efforts. This helps them gain trust, respect and support from fellow employees and enhances team building, leading to success of the enterprise. Value systems guide the culture of an organisation as well.
• Emotional intelligence: Value systems help a professional in treating others with empathy and compassion because their values guide them to self-reflect on how to deal with different situations. There is a gradual moral decline in the values in the society and amongst human beings with time. Wars ravage nations and indifference marks general human relations. It is time that educators stepped in and made efforts to rekindle the desire of human beings to develop personal, social, and professional moral values.
