This NEP 2020 is a transformative vision document for the education system of India, in that it embeds the stellar challenges of the system and aspires toward making the country one of the global knowledge superpowers at the end.
Hence, the policy has laid more emphasis on the objectives of access and equity through measures of dropout reduction, particularly amongst the socioeconomically backward classes, by recommending Special Education Zones and open learning. The focus changes to activity-based and experiential learning so that education is made interesting and relevant for the learner.
It has recommended, under this, the formation of school complexes for efficient governance; professional development of teachers on a continuous basis; and ensuring professionally certified teachers by 2030. Visions for multidisciplinary institutions of higher education would be research-driven, too, with increased autonomy so that India firmly establishes its identity as a global hub of skilled talent.
NEP is comprehensive in its approach, from early childhood care to school education and higher learning, with an integration of technology to create excellent learning experiences. It shall unlock India’s youth potential and drive the country toward sustainable development through universalization of pre-primary education, lightening curriculum load, revamping assessment, and other changes.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to transform India’s education system by making it more holistic, flexible, and multidisciplinary. It focuses on critical thinking, creativity, and overall development.
