Under Article 243-W of the Constitution of India, urban local governance institutions are assigned subjects such as urban planning, land use, water supply, sanitation, waste management, public health, housing, roads, and transportation. These subjects enable local bodies to manage and enhance urban infrastructure and services effectively.
