Madhya Pradesh features diverse cropping patterns based on its varied climatic and geographical conditions. In the northern region, particularly in districts like Gwalior and Morena, wheat and gram are the primary crops. The central region, including Sagar and Damoh, focuses on rice and maize cultivation, benefiting from favorable rainfall. In the southern parts, such as Mandla and Balaghat, crops like soybean and groundnut are prominent due to the favorable agro-climatic conditions. Additionally, cotton and spices are significant in the Malwa region. This diversity in cropping patterns helps ensure food security and supports the livelihoods of farmers across the state.
