The traditional Indian gurukul emphasized holistic training, wherein students lived together with teachers and their mentors. They studied with them through sensible enjoyment, non-secular instruction, and steerage in developing the traits of the scholars. This created a close bond among scholars and teachers and it aimed at ethical development, bodily improvement, and intellectual improvement of an individual.
The crucial factor of the modern-day coaching fashion is classroom coaching, with an identical curriculum and examination layout Although it comes with access to topics and the current generation, but student views and holistic development can be neglected.
Elements of the Gurukul that can be incorporated into the present-day involves – training machines to permit holistic development. As we are in 21st Century. And every school is looking forward to adopt education of today culture and following today’s trend in education sector. For ex- Online teaching method, Smart boards in class room, Online homework for the students etc. which is bemefitial for the students but it can be disadvantages for the students too.
As we know that In gurukuls vidyarthis(students) left their home to study and learn’t every skills to enhance their personality in society and there were no use of any technology by which the focusing power of students were too good and they were more obedient to their guru’s(teachers) and their physical health and mental health were too good as compared to today’s generation.
Things which we can adopt from gurukuls for today’s students personality development.
1.There should be physical activity in every school to keep students mental and physical health fit.
2. The use of mobile phone should be prohibited in schools.
3. There should be proper meal system in school canteens (no fast food should be required) ex – fruits and natural diet.
4. Teach should teach etiquette to students for their personality development in society.
5. Students should be teach with real life examples for their better understanding and interest because student may get bored by reading bools everytime.
The traditional Gurukul system of education in India focused on holistic development, emphasizing moral values, discipline, and personalized mentorship.
