- Coaching general keep highlighting their results to fetch more admission every year . With the rise of these coaching , students are put under extensive pressure of performing well . Suggest ways to reduce the burden and decrease suicide rate of young students
These days the coaching industries are significantly influencing the career choices and options of the young students , mainly diverting them to the fields like engineering and medical. The young minds are being craved to choose those path from the very beginning. They are trying hard to get into the huge competition of engineers and doctors and are not realizing that there are many other career options in life. The main problem lies in the society as they are only interested in the jobs related to engineering and medical and treat the other jobs as a waste of time. The young students are taught that they only have a happy and secured life if the choose career options like engineering and medical. So they gradually lose interest in the areas where they are actually interested and skilled for example sports, acting etc… Due to this to meet the society needs one is suffering and stressing a lot and choosing wrong ways(suicide) to get out of it.
To reduce this burden , the following measures can be taken. Firstly there should be a type of education system for the younger students where they can explore various career paths and one should make them understand that its ok to choose a different path from others and they will not be judged for it. The society should really start prioritizing the mental health , comfort of the young students instead of judging them for not choosing a career option like engineering , medical and pressuring them. This step should first start in one’s house that is parents should first give their child the confidence and assurety its ok for them to choose the career option they like implementing policies that encourage innovation can provide students with more opportunities to excel in fields beyond engineering and medicine which might create a new happy generation ahead of us.
Yes coaching industries killing the young talents and ideas my keeping them in a rat race. They showing up their ranks which are attained by some of the students and they publishing on the public platform. The point to be noted by the students that if they are able to support the students to get better ranks and jobs and why they can’t achieve the better jobs on behalf of working for small scale jobs. In order to overcome this the students and the aspirants should depend on their own capability and implement their ideas and plans to become successful.
The time of higher studies parent should not force the children to do the particular course they liked but on behalf of that they encourage their children to do what they were interested and guiding them in a right way that there are many high paying jobs based on their skills and capability. Some of the people are not interested in doing jobs they have great ideas to do new status, let encourage them
Being a student i have gone through the same phase ,so i very well understand that coaching institutes build up a lot of pressure which sometimes becomes unbearable .
Parents get their children into these institutions hoping a bright future for them .
This leads to social expectations , but one of the ways by which parents can calm their child is by accepting their failures and making them understand that failures are a necessary part of life and without failure there is no success. Also parents can work out things in such a way by trying to understand their child’s psychology and supporting them . Most important is to make a child understand that to achieve his/her aim , its not necessary to be a part of rat race and to try their best
Coaching businesses in India and other nations often force young minds to compete fiercely to become engineers or doctors. This trend can crush creativity and narrow job options for many kids. The heavy push to excel in these areas can trigger stress, exhaustion, and even mental troubles.
Many coaching shops focus on memorising facts and high marks instead of well-rounded learning. This way of teaching can ignore the growth of sharp thinking new ideas, and other key abilities. As a result, lots of students might not reach their best or find jobs that match their loves and skills better.
To ease this load, people can take several steps:
1. Boost Job Knowledge: Schools and parents should show kids many job choices on. This can help students find what they like and do well beyond the usual fields of engineering and medicine.
2. Encourage Holistic Education: Schools should boost all-round growth. They must include clubs, games, and creative pursuits. This helps kids shine in many ways.
3. Reduce Exam Pressure: We need to change how we test students. Big scary exams cause too much stress. Checking work all year long and doing hands-on projects work better.
The increasing dominance of coaching institutes has heightened student stress, occasionally leading to severe outcomes like suicide. To mitigate this pressure, several approaches can be employed.
First, bolstering mental health support is vital. Schools and coaching centers should offer regular counseling to assist students in managing stress and developing effective coping mechanisms. Additionally, workshops on time management and relaxation techniques can be beneficial.
Second, fostering a well-rounded curriculum that includes extracurricular activities is crucial. Encouraging participation in sports, arts, and other hobbies can provide a balanced lifestyle and essential breaks from academic pressures.
Parental involvement is another key factor in reducing student stress. Educating parents about the signs of stress and the importance of emotional support can help create a nurturing home environment. Promoting open communication between parents and children ensures students feel safe discussing their struggles.
Lastly, educational reforms should address the high-stakes nature of exams. Implementing diverse assessment methods, such as continuous assessments and project-based evaluations, can alleviate pressure on students.
By adopting these strategies, a more supportive and balanced environment for students can be established, reducing stress and the risk of suicide.
The coaching industry has undeniably placed immense pressure on young talents, channeling them into a narrow pathway of becoming engineers or doctors. When I went to Kota in order to take a drop, I found myself trapped and frightened. The students who are not able to handle rigorous mental pressure, can’t cope up there.
Students of Type A, who have been sent there because of societal pressure each day, struggle over something that they don’t even aspire to in their lives or find themselves stuck among those minds who are trained to handle such pressure.
Then comes students of Type B who want to voluntarily be a part of coaching that will not only support them academically but also help them mentally by not throwing them in some rat race. Alas! this doesn’t happen in coaching. Students will be seen running here and there to find teachers who meet their level of understanding, constantly struggling to score well in tests, backlogs to be completed before another test, and pending lectures. The story doesn’t end here, this is their endless tale which sometimes ends up in complete silence(suicide)
The culture of joining in a coaching institute is now a days very common amongst the youth preparing for competitive exams, mainly JEE and NEET. Every year lakhs of students enroll themselves in a coaching institute, many of them don’t even know the purpose and just go about it due to lack of awareness, only in the hope to become engineers or doctors.
There is definitely a sense of rat race going on, inculcated within the students. But the Coaching Industry is not totally at fault here. Institutes are established to help children only and those who actually have inclination towards the advance study, flourish greatly in such competitive environment. The major problem is that majority of students without a purpose in life yet and no awareness on other options, enroll themselves and so get crushed by the burden of responsibilities and higher competition causing stress and depression and forcing many to end their life.
Every Problem comes with a solution, So to reduce this burden of competion in coaching industries, what can be done is:
1. Spreading awareness on every field a person can take up apart from Engineering and MBBS.
2. Proper guidance, without putting much stress, given to students who actually are interested in giving competitive exams.
3. Involvement of parents to see if their child is facing any issues or feeling any burden. And not pressurize them to continue with this only if they don’t want to.
4. Laws made against institutes who charge hefty money from parents in the name of ‘advanced studies’
5. Mental health and awareness sessions conducted by the institute mainly encouraging students to talk, if they are facing any problem and solve it right away.
If we try to solve this issue together, coaching environment won’t anymore feel like a rat race going on.
