According to me the internships in college are really important and crucial thing. It helps in connecting theoretical knowledge (the one which they have gained in class) to practical usage i.e. in industry and in real time. It helps to develop the skill which mere classroom knowledge can never help to develop. That is one of the major reasons why colleges are more focused on internships these days. Also these internships count on your resume and plays crucial role in profile building.
