Online learning has allowed most of the world to gain access to education that wasn’t possible a few years ago.
• With the digital revolution, students from rural areas have been able to access a wide range of information online that enhances their knowledge. This puts the children from urban and rural areas at par with each other as the urban population has had access to public libraries, school/college libraries and large scale educational lectures.
• Even the remotest of villages in India with a decent internet connection have been able to educate its children through online classes.
• The shift of teaching from a physical classroom to computer/phone screens since the pandemic has been a great boon for the children.
• Younger children in remote rural areas who cannot travel to nearby towns or children who can’t afford to be sent to attend school can now have access to a digital classroom from their respective villages.
• Children in rural areas can also develop their skills by enrolling in certificate courses and learning from online video platforms; this levels the playing field between them and the urban population who have a wide range of extracurriculars offered within their vicinity.
