Although the media can be an instrument to educate the public and take on the voices of the underrepresented, the concern is still real that there may be one-sided reporting and sensational news that can fuel tensions. Nevertheless, some people claim that the media tends to concentrate on the violence of the conflicts and neglect the underlying socio-economic problems causing these conflicts. The side effect of the imbalanced news can be the misrepresentation of the situation and heinous acts taken against the process of peace resolution.
