Today’s youth face a variety of stressors that impact their mental and emotional well-being. One significant source of stress is academic pressure. The intense competition for high grades, college admissions, and scholarships can lead to overwhelming anxiety. Additionally, the emphasis on extracurricular activities to build a robust college application adds to their burden. Social media is another major stressor. The constant comparison with peers, cyberbullying, and the pressure to maintain a perfect online image can erode self-esteem and increase anxiety. Another source of stress is family dynamics. Youth may experience stress from parental expectations, family conflicts, or financial instability. In some cases, navigating the complexities of divorced or blended families can add emotional strain. Mental health issues are increasingly prevalent, with anxiety and depression affecting many young people. The stigma around mental health can prevent them from seeking help, further compounding their stress. It is also observed that the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic has left many young people feeling isolated and uncertain about the future. Balancing these various pressures creates a challenging environment for today’s youth, often leading to chronic stress.

You & your partner will play a more crucial role in your life as new parents, so planning pregnancy correctly is important in today’s perspective. Discuss openly with your partner about your responsibilities and ability to have an open mind while & after pregnancy and the lots of patience it requires. How you both will manage your work life when a woman needs to take a break? How financially do you both sound & discuss hospital bills, charges, and other expenses that will include during & after pregnancy? Indulge yourselves in physical activities i.e. yoga, gym, going on a walk together. Spend your time with each other more than your regular time and plan a trip together before the baby so that you will feel fresh & relaxed. Take help from your family & friends if needed. If you both are feeling stressed or facing anxiety, or depression then first seek therapy and prepare mentally healthy. Discuss parenting methods you want to follow and emotional values in your life. How much do you want your families to be involved? Have a healthy & fresh diet and take care of gut health. If you are facing any health problem then discuss it with your doctor before planning.
