Emotional Intelligence (EI) inherently affects one’s attitudes towards workplace since it includes self-aware, self-regulation, autonomous; motivation and interpersonal such as empathy among others. Here’s how each aspect contributes:Here is how each aspect feeds into the other:
1. Self-awareness: The EI comprises of self, other, and social awareness; self-awareness refers to the degree that one has understanding own emotional state and how this emotions influences one’s thinking and course of action. This awareness enables them to be positive with what they are conferred with regardless of the circumstances they find themselves in.
2. Self-regulation: However, looking at the fact that high EI means and includes ability to manage emotions, then those with high EI will manage their emotions well. One of them is that they are able not to overreact and, therefore, keep their negative responses within the minimum level which, in turn, helps to maintain the overall attunement in the given sphere more stable .
3. Motivation: Self-estimated values have low/mixed correlations because people with high levels of EI can be more qualified and achieve better results at work. Because of this, they mostly have positive self-expectations coupled with efforts towards the achievement of the said goals which has a positive impact to people nearby.
4. Empathy: EI refers to the ability to know situations and feeling of the people; willing to share it with other people. This increases the inter employee relations and physical working environment, therefore increasing the morale of the employees.
5. Social skills: It mostly focuses on how one is as a communicator, their ability to solve interpersonal conflicts, and their interaction with other people in the workplace as evident in high EI. In fact, the mentioned skills shape working climate, therefore, the impact is constructive and mainly refers to organizational culture and people’s attitude toward it.
