Indeed, I think that emotional intelligence is basically an emotional ability that helps to manage and regulate one’s emotions proficiently and also to understand others’ emotions in a puzzling situation. Emotional intelligence plays a bigger role in one’s life as it helps to navigate through life’s challenges and complexities efficiently. It can be useful in the future in the following ways: 1. to effectively communicate with other employees at work; 2. to become aware of one’s own emotions and feelings. 3. To manage one’s emotions and stress effectively. 4. To make rational decisions depending on the situation. Whereas the intelligence quotient is an intellectual ability that helps in logical reasoning and problem solving, it is limited to academics and professional or technical fields because it doesn’t take into account other variables like emotions or feelings in the pursuit of success. Therefore, emotional intelligence comes in handy to act empathetically towards others, build relations, and collaborate with others. However, according to me, achieving a balance between emotional intelligence and the intelligence quotient is a better way to deal with daily life challenges. Striking a balance between emotions and logical reasoning is a holistic approach to achieving success. It would be suitable for individual growth and development as well. In conclusion, I would like to say both are important, but emotional intelligence plays a bigger role in interacting with others and dealing with problems mindfully.
