The following steps have been taken by the government towards use of e-technology in agriculture:
Further measures are required to address lack of awareness, establish digital infrastructure in rural areas, overcome digital divide and encourage adoption of e-technologies to ensure increased agricultural productivity and income.
Lets start with basic introduction by first understanding the meaning of the word “e- technology”: e technology is electronic technologies which associated to electronic devices, networks, internet, etc
Now lets dive into the topic by highlighting the advantages of e technology in context of indian farmer.
So, the first benefit is that it shows real time access to weather forecast, news related to prices of crops and also helps in upgrading agricultural techniques. All this helps in proper effective management and efficiency of crops and future risks.
Also, “e-technology” helps farmers to know about new schemes which ensures that farmers recieve proper support. Because of all these benefits government of India has taken initiative to promote e-technology in agriculture, such as National Agriculture Marker (eNAM)
This scheme is to eliminate the middleman and let the farmer sell his goods at fair prices so that farmers and consumers are both satisfied.
Additionally, there is an app called “KISAN SUVIDHA” and “mKISAN” through these apps farmers get to know about market prices, fertilizer, crop diseases, risks and as well as advice farmers.
In conclusion, e-technology empowers farmers by taking so many initiatives so that farmers have access to all the important informations. All these initiative helps farmer to improve product quality, eliminate risks, plan costings etc. Also the schemes like eNAM and other digital resources like KISAN all this ensure that farmers can also experience growth and technologies.
