According to me as a women, there should be mensuration leave for atleast 3 days because I have seen many women or girls going through period pain as hell but on the other side there is other womens who don’t feel any pain at all.
1] In fact I have seen my close friend, she is like consuming turmeric with water balls for pain relief.
2] I have seen my mother – on the periods, continue vomiting and pain (back pain) -(specifically).
3] Whereas in my case, I sometimes feel worst pain but sometime there is no pain but the body pain and back pain is common.
On periods every women is going some through body pain , specially back pain.
i.e other thing – she is not showing it in front of everyone.
For working + married women , period days become more difficult because she have to work at home as well as office .
So according to my point of view, mensuration leave is must according to company or by measuring other factors also.

It is important that women should be given menstrual leaves so that they can remain healthy and work more efficiently. However the intense competition in today’s corporate world has made it difficult to implement menstrual leaves. Bihar and Kerala are the only Indian states that have introduced menstrual leave policies for women. Bihar’s policy was introduced in 1992, allowing women employees two days of paid menstrual leave every month.
Menstrual leave can be defined as leave taken by female employees during the time of their menstruation. it can be paid or unpaid. With the recent Supreme Court judgment this question has become all the more important.
Importance of paid menstrual leave-
Need for paid period leaves-
Impediment in adopting paid period leaves –
1, It would exacerbate gender equality on the economic front- employers would not hire female employees if period leave becomes necessary and that would lead to the widening of the gender gap.
2) It will reinforce the social stigma and taboos- as has been seen in the case of Japan, where women avoided taking menstrual leave, due to the stigma and shame surrounding periods.
3) There are legitimate concerns surrounding the implementation of menstrual leave as was also stated by the Supreme Court of India.
Legislative measures taken to implement Paid period leave-
Government Initiatives taken by the Government to promote menstrual leave-
Paid menstrual hygiene can become a reality if we focus on-
To achieve SDG 5, and make India an inclusive society paid period leave could be an add that would ensure a vibrant and equal society.
Most people have the notion that menstruation is a normal and natural phenomenon in most women’s lives. However what they fail to note is the number of problems that come along with it. Almost 50% of the women population these days, have an illness called PCOS or PCOD which makes menstruation not only painful but also moderately unbearable for them to handle. Being a woman myself, I would like to also say that menstrual leave is not a free pass for women to chill around and enjoy, but it is to relief them from the immense pain and attached symptoms, so that they can ensure that their work for the next few days remains efficient.
A bill granting women paid menstrual leave should be passed as a gesture to support women during their tough times. This “natural” phenomenon can prove to be a few of the most physically challenging days, as some women can barely get up from their beds, let alone go to work. At least one paid menstrual leave should be granted to every woman, every month, no matter which company. The first step should be raising more awareness as to why menstrual leave is necessary and demanded.
Menstrual leave is an important topic of discussion and we need to start talking about it seriously people think that this topic is actually opposite of what gender equality moment started and ignore it. The discomfort, pain and emotional stress is different for every women some women can actually go with their daily routine without any issue but some can’t even get up from bed and ignoring such level of suffering of human being and forcing them to work actually promote absenteeism at work and we keep on forgetting that all these law which are still continuing from past in every field were never made keeping women in mind so I think it’s time to make rules keeping women in mind and promote gender equity
Well, the topic of menstrual leaves is in limelight from few days, as women we all know that how difficult those 5 days get sometimes, but at the hand this should not be proven as a weakness of women and effect her productivity or growth at her work place. So I feel the choice of working or taking leave during mesturating should be left on ger itself. Because everyone experience different level of pain during this time, some can tolerate it and some cannot. So this leave thing should be left on her.
The age-old debate! As a compassionate and understanding assistant, I firmly believe that women deserve a definite law for menstrual leave. Menstruation is a natural part of life, but it can also be a challenging and painful experience for many women.
Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding menstruation persists, and women are often expected to “toughen up” and power through their periods, even when they’re in excruciating pain or discomfort. This can lead to decreased productivity, increased stress, and a overall negative impact on their well-being.
By providing menstrual leave, we can help break down this stigma and create a more supportive and inclusive environment for women. It’s not about special treatment, but about acknowledging the unique challenges that women face and providing them with the necessary support and care.
Let’s work together to create a society that prioritizes women’s health, well-being, and equality. It’s time to normalize menstruation and make menstrual leave a basic right, not a privilege. Women deserve better, and it’s our responsibility to make it happen!
