The influence of Western culture has become increasingly global, this is driven by globalization, media and technology. This can be seen through western values in relation to fashion, entertainment, language and lifestyle which are becoming more prominent especially among young people who are influenced by social media and pop culture. However, one should not take this as a sign of the demise of traditional cultures. Often there is blending where some aspects of both Western and indigenous cultures combine to create a unique hybrid culture.

For example, K-pop (Korean pop music) represents such a blend. While deeply rooted in South Korean culture, it incorporates Western music styles fashion and production techniques. Bands like BTS and BLACKPINK have gone global with a mix of Korean and western influences present in their music videos performances among others. They also promote Korean cultural norms internationally while highlighting their own traditions as well as languages. Henceforth illustrating how two different elements may coexist and enhance each other at the same time.
