Nolan Committee’s Principles of Public Life
The Nolan Committee established seven key principles to guide public officials:
1. Selflessness
Example: A politician prioritizing community needs over personal gain.
2. Integrity
Example: A leader refusing to accept gifts that could influence decisions.
3. Objectivity
Example: Hiring based on qualifications, not personal connections.
4. Accountability
Example: A public official explaining their choices to the public.
5. Openness
Example: Publishing budget reports for public review.
6. Honesty
Example: A government spokesperson providing accurate updates.
7. Leadership

These principles help maintain public trust and ensure ethical governance.
