The first Ayush University in UP, Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University was set up to provide a holistic approach to public by using traditional methods of medicine like homeopathy, ayurveda, Unani and siddha. More research in these medication systems can provide us more opportunities to look into the possible outcomes of traditional medicine and to take benefits from it.
The main objectives are:
Education and training: Such universities will allow practitioners to practice medicine with holistic approach.
Expansion of healthcare system : It increases the number of medical practitioners according to the increasing population which is the need of the hour. So, it helps to provide more medical professionals with skills which in turn increases the workforce and quality of the professionals.
International attention: It is expected to foster collaborations with other research institutions and universities both within India and internationally. This increases the possibilities of global recognition by enhancing the research work at both levels national and international.
Nature and Objectives of the First Ayush University in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh established its first Ayush University in 2021, named Maharishi University of Information Technology, Ayush University, in Gorakhpur.
