The British East India Company turned India into a market point for the sale of British goods by:
– Open Markets: The company used its political and military power to shut out the Indian existing trade networks and take its place. It did all its best to remove Indian tariffs and duties on British goods while levying heavy taxes on local Indian producers. This made British products much cheaper than Indian counterparts in the market.
– Protectiveism: The British importation of goods into India was complemented by the exclusion of Indian textiles from the British market, which comprised high tariffs and bans in protectionist Britain. All this led to the great destruction of India’s once largest textile industry in the world.
– Raw Material Supplier: India became the most significant supplier of raw materials into the British industries, especially in cotton. The raw material came in Britain duty-free; hence, it was another advantage to British manufacturers.
– Captive Market: India was proved to be a large captive market for the goods manufactured inside Britain. The people of India hardly had an option as their domestic industries were suppressed and competed with the financial products of Britain as being cheaper.

-Chandrayaan-3 (2023): Successfully place a spacecraft near the lunar south pole, in thereby India becoming the fourth country to attain a soft landing on the Moon and the first to do it near the south pole.
Comparison with Other Nations:
Despite this great success, Indian space program is relatively nascent when compared with more advanced space faring nations such as US, Russia, China or Europe. These nations have of experience of decades and way more substantial funding as compared to Mars mission for that they perform tasks such as human space flight, moon landings, interplanetary travel.
But the Indian space program is notable for:
-Cost-effectiveness: India makes good progress with comparatively low budgets and this is how one can conclude that it is very innovative in its way.
Scientific research focus: Unlike many other nations, India’s space missions like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan are definitely not empty triumphs but have significance scientific data additions.
Technological advancements: From technological independence, India has designed and developed its communication satellites, launch vehicles and space borne instruments etc.
The future efforts include manned missions to space and specifically to the Moon and other planets and asteroids exploration. Despite all the issues India has in the field it remains one of the largest countries interested in space exploration focused on scientific research and technological development that would allow it to continue developing and carrying out space exploration in the near future.
