Feminism in itself is a multi-faceted topic. In today’s time, I feel it has become slightly more negative than positive. It’s like a conversation that’s grown way bigger than ever imagined. The pros include little wins like girls going to school and women having a say in elections, boardrooms, and holding leadership positions.
But at the same time, we still see a wide pay gap, eve teasing & cases of molestation from all around the globe. On the other hand, it’s nice to see that the conversation has become more inclusive – because Feminism isn’t just about bashing men. And the best part is that even a man can be a feminist.
And every now and then we see women who have broken the glass ceiling and achieved so much in life so, it’s great to see not all women face the same struggles and not everyone needs to battle off poverty or racism in the workforce or summit Mt Everest. Sure, some people misunderstand the idea of feminism and they think it is all about bashing men and rooting for women who drink alcohol or smoke weed or cigarettes, which is nothing but a negative stereotype.
In reaction to these stereotypes, to match up to that level, women are trying to act more masculine to achieve equality, forgetting their true selves and the beauty of feminine energy. I firmly believe feminism is all about a gender-neutral world. And that alone is a very good reason to fight for, wouldn’t you agree?
