Achieving gender equality and eliminating discrimination against any gender be it women or men is a complex and ongoing process which involves different factors.

There are different progress that have been done for gender quality

• There are implementation of many anti discrimination laws

• Equal amount of pay by legislation

• Parental support and maternity leave

2) Education

• If we compare to past there were no women or less amount of women who were educated but now there is higher enrolment in higher education institutions

3) Political Representation

• The amount of women have increased in political offices

• Gender quotas

4) Health

• Healthcare services are improved

• Started addressing maternal health and reproductive health of girls

Challenges to gender equality

1) Stereotypes

• Assigned particular works according to genders

• Reinforcing stereotypes by media portrayal

2) Workplace discrimination

• Gender pay gap

• Limited career opportunities for women

3) Political underrepresentation

• There was lack of support for female political candidates

• Women are still not valued in some of the politic parties

4) Violence and harassment

• They are High rates of domestic violence and sexual harassment

• There were no sufficient amount of legal protection and suppose system for women
