NO, Children less than 14 and even those who are 15, 16 shouldn’t have their own social media accounts specifically like Instagram because the apparent reason is the exposure. When you are scrolling a reel or a video you don’t know what’s next, in such case any content which is inappropriate as per their age, then it may either be psychologically detrimental as child psychology is deep and unpredictable or it may cast bad influence on them. Children’s are curious if they even get a glance of something which they are oblivious about, they would try their best to know about it. There’s no denying to fact that social media have impact, and how it impacts one mind specially young minds is important to know…
Take an instance: There are videos where wrong messages are delivered but are presented with tune full, energizing background music which makes it look cool or there are videos with explicit content. This kind of content has disturbing effect on minds. Other issues are those predators with bad intentions sitting behind the screen, faceless who prey on people with their manipulative and gullible tricks.
If there’s a case where social media is good to be used for children then it should be used under parent’s supervision or with parental controls.
