As genres evolve, sometimes new music is lumped into existing categories, or a proliferation of derivative subgenres, fusion genres, and “micro-genres” starts to accrue.
Different genres of music can be seen as follows:
Electronic dance music:
In the early twenties, electronic dance music was known in the form of Jamaican dub music, the electronic music of Kraftwerk, the disco music of Giorgio Moroder, the Yellow Magic Orchestra, and many more. EDM (or electronic dance music) is the combined term for all genres within the dance music space.
Dubstep:
People consider it to be a darker form of music, but since its birth in the late 1990s, this genre has successfully made its place in the industry. Artists create tempos that have about 140 beats per minute with cut time to produce a heavy, dark beat.
Rhythm and Blues:
Originating in the 1940s, this African-American music is a combination of hip-hop, funk, etc focusing on themes like relationships, sex, and freedom. It is a musical form that is based on the use of low (bass) notes for expressive purposes and that maintains a repetitive musical structure.
Country Music:
It is formed using simple forms of instruments ranging from electric and steel guitars to drums and mandolin or mouth organ.
