There are several effective ways through which educators can encourage critical thinking among different ages of students and in a variety of subjects. 

1. Encourage Questioning and Inquiry: Teachers can try to make students feel safe in the classroom environment where they are free to ask open-ended questions, explore alternative ideas, thus developing curiosity, as well as critical analysis. 
2. Problem-Based Learning (PBL): This could involve incorporating real world problems or case studies into the curriculum which helps students practically apply what they have learnt . Moreover, encourage analysis of current events and promote media literacy.
