In order to search for the extraterrestrial life forms a multifaceted approach must be taken incorporating various branches of sciences together in a unison.
In order to search for extraterrestrial life forms various sophisticated biosignature detection instruments are being developed by scientists which can spot and detect any anomaly in atmosphere of a planet detecting any signs of life.
Research on distant exoplanets which lie in the goldilock zones of distant stars like ours through missions such as KEPLER , TESS and JWST and looking for signs of life in these planets will further enhance our chances of finding extraterrestrial life forms. The study of exoplanets is not restricted to finding planets that may exhibit life but also incorporates subtle atmospheric changes and presence of biological activity on surface of the planets through atmospheric gases such as oxygen and ozone.
One other way with potential of giving us a huge leap towards finding extraterrestrial life is future technological advancements. Adaptive optics improve our ability to find distant stars and planets , artificial intelligence can sort and analyse various data forms and give split second decisions for various missions and advancements in propulsion technology capable of reducing the travel time between planets and star systems within our solar system and our galaxy making manned and unmanned missions more feasible and realistic.
