See lessCompassion is the biggest virtue one can possess. It not only helps us as human beings be more emotionally aware but also connects us as species into a more intimate environment. Compassion as a term refers to understanding. It is the emotion that evokes in us in the most dire situations. This virtue is important because it builds character. A compassionate person brings warmth into people’s lives and, in turn, helps uplift them. It is far greater than other virtues because it is what makes one a human being. Our ability to feel emotions and express them is what separates us from other things in the universe. One can not be “alive” if one does not feel. The bond we share with others through our vulnerability and our sensitivity exists due to compassion. If compassion ends, then so does our world.
