If there’s any book I  can’t get over after reading it’s “Harry Potter”  by J.K Rowling  and I’ll definitely spend the rest of my life reading it over and over again.

Seeing the struggles of Harry and his will to overcome every challenges that comes his way even when he was little. The use of Magic makes the novel more interesting by making a picture of death more interesting in that when an individual dies in Hogwarts his or her spirit still roam, talks and do what human can do and the use of them being use as a portrait makes it more fun.

Also, the gift of friends is more emphasized. Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are a gift that Harry won’t trade even if they fought they still made up.

The use of flying broom during quidditch practices or the real tournament is an imaginative depiction that is well described by the author to help readers to build their brain.

Additionally, the use of horcruxes that tells there are different sacrifices to take in order to achieve a particular goals. This can be seen in how Voldemort is afraid to die and kept his lives in seven different object in that if one is destroyed he still has 6 lives to depend on and continuously like that. Unknown, to him of the mission of Dumblore who was searching for the horcruxes in order to finally defeat him and each series shows different Battles faced by Harry, Hogwarts and people involved in Magic.

Literature is said to mirror life. Therefore, literature can likewise be referred to as penetrating into the mind of the author and understanding the author’s point of view and in the process we derive our own meaning and questions to life that shapes our thoughts.

Authors uses the style that makes their reader resonate with their piece so the message passed would be well understood. A typical example is ‘Things Fall Apart’ by Chinua Achebe, the use of style plays a crucial role in shaping and reflecting the Igbo society and its collision with European colonial forces. Achebe employs various stylistic elements to bring the world of Umuofia to life, providing a deep insight into its traditions, values, and eventual transformation. Through the use of language, narrative structure, characterisation and thematic exploration Achebe provides the depiction of the Igbo tribe.

Through the use of proverbs, the vivid description of rituals and festival like the yam farming and importance of kolanuts all gave a good picture of the tribe.

Another example of the text that reflects the society is ‘The Mechanics of Yenegoa’ by Michael Afenfia. This novel explores various aspects of societal life in Yenegoa, the Capital of Bayelsa state in Nigeria. Ebinimi, the protagonist who was trying to navigate life while still caring and catering for others with his handwork as he couldn’t get a job after graduating university. His struggle to make it in life leads him to seek help where he shouldn’t. His life depicts the typical nigerian citizen struggling to make it in life and would do anything to survive life. It also explores the influence of politicians on daily lives of citizens.

In conclusion, literature is a very important aspects of our life because authors express the struggles of human, the challenges they faced through writing.The readers read and analyze what’s learnt and apply to day to day activities .Therefore, literature is very important because it speaks indirectly to human.
