India has always been the centre of attraction for people arround the world. People belonging to different races, communities, religion together formed a common culture and today call it ‘Indian culture’.
Here are some key aspects of Indian culture which still amazes foreigners;
1. Hospitality: Indians are famous for their gracious hospitality. The philosophy of ‘Atithi devo bhava’ literally says that the guests are equal to God. Indians always try to go over the top when it comes to treating theirs guests well and making sure they are comfortable.
2. Festivals: As we discussed earlier India and Indian culture is nothing but a blend of many beautiful cultural and religious groups. Together they give a distinct identity to it’s culture. Since India is a secular country, every community gets the opportunity to celebrate their festivals. Not only that but people from all communities rejoice in celebrating these festivals.
3. Weddings: Today Indian weddings have attained global attention and acclamation. The concept of ‘big fat indian wedding’ has always attracted people from arround the globe. People dressed in traditional Indian attire, traditional cuisine, decor are always the highlights of these occasions.
4. Family structure: This aspect of indian society always surprises people from the west. Those who have always lived in nuclear family structures, isolated social structure find Indian societies and families interesting. More than 2 or 3 generations living in a same household is something people from different countries have always been fascinated about. Indian society represents cohabitation, collective growth, unity and the roots of the same can be found in their houses itself.
