Urban- rural migration : A threat to nation
Relocation of rural people to urban areas for search of better social and economic opportunities is referred to as urban rural migration . People move to cities and towns to ensure development as cities offfer them greater opportunities than villages .

Major reasons for this migration are as follows:

1) Greater availability of opportunities

2) Economic development 

3) Better lifestyles

4) Exposure to new society

5) Quality education 

As a results , the people belonging to rural areas tends to move towards the cities to  keep pace with the development . Rural areas are greatly affected by such migration as :

Such migration cause great disturbence in economic and social environment of villages  . This de population cause availability of lesser people for agriculture and other rural based industry .

Even cities cannot accommodate large number of migrant their policies began to collapse overpopulation  pose a major threat .

Ways to reduce this migration ;

1) Government should make better policies to ensure development of rural areas so that people dont need to migrate for better opportunities

2)Better job opportunities should be created in the villages to ensure no people is left unemployed 

3) Good quality education should be provided to villages children as well 

4) Infrastructure should be improved in villages as well 

By concluding we can say , this migration should be reduced to maintain a balance in cities and villages . There should be proper measure to check this migration and reduce this .
