How often do you feel that your mental health was threatened by the negativity and toxicity around you? Are you more likely to address the thoughts and try to calm yourselves down? If you do, please let us know, too.

I will be very honest in writing this answer. I am an empathetic person and I always try to be kind towards people no matter who they are or what they have done to me. Sometimes I feel that I am mistaken but most of the times I feel proud to be kind.
It is hundred percent true that negativity and toxicity are two big factors that threaten our mental health. There have been many situations where my mental health was affected by these two and I had to lose my calmness.
There was a time when I had to leave my well going and fine job due to negative and toxic colleagues around me at the workplace. I was really traumatized to see the toxicity and ill behavioral judgemental tendency of people. I used to complain in my mind why these people don’t choose to be kind to others but I quickly realized that I could not control how other people behave. Yes, it is true that I cannot control the behavior of others but I can control mine. I started learning how to behave.
I then adopted a way that I will not let people spray their negativity and toxicity on me. I will not let them rule my way of thinking no matter what the situation is. And now whenever anything like this happens, I totally avoid the negativity and toxicity of the people. I only choose the positive opinions and good vibes from them. I filter bad vibes and thus I feel more calm and productive. If you are seeking a way, I will say to learn the filtering of the thoughts.
It will be great if we choose to be like a semipermeable membrane. This membrane is found in cells that allows only essential things to come in and go out.
If we allow only positive thoughts to impact us and push out the negative thoughts, we can be more calm and happy.
