Sex education is key to how we teach all people – and specifically young folks-what they need to know in order for them make informed decisions about their sex lives. Human Sexuality Education is a curriculum about the expansive knowledge of human sexuality including reproduction, consent, and sexual transmitted infections (STI’s) & unwanted pregnancies. Reducing risky sexual behaviors is one of the major gains that comes with sex education. Sex education can help young people access health information about contraception and safe sex choices, enabling them to make informed decisions that protect their future. Research suggests that abstinence only until marriage programs are not effective at preventing teen pregnancy, and it is a much better investment to give our children complete information about the realities of adolescent sexual behavior. On top of that, sex education generally debunks myths and sexual confusion, creating more realistic ideas of relationships and where to draw the line, personal space. This is especially crucial in a media environment that spews distorted messages about sex all the time. Schools can offer learners valuable resources and support in a formal setting through vital education that most parents would rather not discuss. Summary, In sum, providing sex education is crucial to improving sexual health outcomes, diminishing human suffering from STIs and unintended pregnancies, and creating a generation of young adults with the knowledge required to establish respectful relationships.
