Feminism, evolving through its waves, encompasses various strands, and the limitations of few shouldn’t define the entire feminist discourse, making it fake.
Feminism essentially stood with equality and women’s rights, however some feminist took a very radical approach. This projected feminism as ‘man-hating‘ (mainly came as a response to second-wave feminism). Such an image casting can also be attributed to the patriarchal insecurity as feminism challenges its traditional gender roles.
The feminist movement has significantly impacted women’s access to public spaces, rights, and opportunities, providing a level playing field for both genders. Women’s right to education, vote, etc do not compromise men’s rights. Affirmative actions, like quotas, that are considered to put females in an advantaged position, actually uplift women from the disadvantage of not receiving the job/education seat due to social/biological constraints.
Feminism fundamentally supports gender neutrality and not female superiority. However, the misuse of feminism by some individuals to defend personal gains has contributed to its negative image.
Thus, the idea that “feminism is a fake conception” has grounds in the negative experiences of people or their patriarchal insecurity but overall, feminism is an idea standing with equality and against patriarchy.
