Let’s understand the harmful effects of climate change:
- Ocean acidification: due to high concentrations of CO2 and other harmful gases, marine life is getting destroyed.
- Extinction of species: Golden toad (Costa Rica region), Bramble Cay Melomys (Great Barrier Reef, Australia), Pinta Island Tortoise (Galapagos region), and more, became extinct due to hunting, sea-level rise, and loss of food sources.
- Due to increasing temperatures, the oceans are becoming warmer, and cyclones are known for drawing energy from warm ocean waters.
- Forest fires are another consequence of climate change. Due to increasing heatwaves, the forests catch fire that leads to loss of lives, natural habitat and public properties. For Example: Australia, California, and Amazon.
