Mother and child are considered as one unit. In any society mother and child are always in priority group, the children are the future citizen of country and mother are the creator of future citizens.
Reproductive and child health care approach is keeping the country evolution of an integrated approach to the programme aimed at improving the health status of women and young children which has been going on in the country namely family welfare programme, universal immunisation programme, oral rehydration therapy, child survival and safe motherhood programme

There are five components of RCH programme- maternal health, infant and child health, adolescent health , services to couple and qualify improving services

ANC(antenatal care) followed by antenatal check up , abdominal examination, physical examination, assessment of gestational age

Restoration of mother to optimum health after delivery the health check ups should be frequent ie twice a day during the first days and subsequently once a day till the umbilical cord drops off.
