The need to feed the growing population is on an increasing trajectory. Traditional farming methods can not sustain the growing food requirement of the world. Here AI comes at rescue. AI has been growing and its applications can be used in varied field of agriculture, from sowing to making market accessible for the farmers. Some of the most pertinent issues farmers face today are pest control, soil health, man-animal conflict, weather patterns, plant growth, etc. Accurate and timely data can help farmers to improve their crop yield, reduce waste and increase profitability. The government and other agencies are also fast developing policies and tools to integrate AI in agriculture. Some of these are Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Kisan Drone, Digitization of land, etc. Various startups have been coming up which aim to integrate agriculture and tech. Some examples of startups are Brahm, Cropin, Fasal, etc. The continued effort of government and private entrepreneurs will surely lead to an increase in farmers welfare thereby contributing in the productivity and sustainablity.AI in agriculture is projected to increase its capacity, highlighting its important role in this sector.
