Encroachment on public land by individuals constructing buildings and shops without adhering to government regulations exacerbates the issue. This unauthorized construction often leads to clashes with authorities, with the perpetrators playing the victim. Furthermore, the reluctance of certain castes to engage in the perilous task of drain cleaning, a historical responsibility, may be attributed to the desire for equal respect in society. The absence of responsible waste disposal, especially plastic, exacerbates drain blockages and overflows. Addressing these challenges requires diligent government policies and interventions dedicated to enhancing drainage infrastructure.
