Unsafe abortions are a critical issue affecting the reproductive and maternal health of women in India due to various factors. Many women, particularly in rural areas, lack access to safe and legal abortion services. Cultural and societal stigma around abortion further discourages women from seeking safe procedures, pushing them towards unsafe methods. Economic constraints often compel women to opt for low-cost, unsafe procedures. Moreover, restrictive laws and policies create significant barries to accessing safe abortion services. Nowadays teenagers are actively indulged in sexual activities which sometimes unfortunately leads them to take unsafe methods of abortion due to lack of knowledge and information. Sex is still a kind of taboo in India and people here are not much considerate to learn or spread information about sex and abortion practices and this gives rise to various health issues for a woman. Additionally, there is insufficient awareness about safe abortion practices and the availability of legal options.
