This has been happening due to a lot of factors
- Society and Image: Families have been conscious of their image in the society and its a believe that dating someone would ruin that image because of them being the talk among the members of the society.
- Social Stigma: A common belief of evil eyes falling on the child is something many families believe in and try to avoid as it would do no good.
- Diseases: Families also have some reasonable points like the spread of diseases like AIDS and Gonorrhea due to unprotected and monogamous sex.
- Loyalty: Marriage is considered as a sacred bond which gives a sense of safety and long livedness else there can always be a danger of the partner deceiving which can spoil the life of their kid.
