Talking about the most significant barrier for women at their workplaces, ‘lack of opportunities for career advancement’ is something we still need to address with great detail.
As it is said, “Address the root cause and not just the symptoms“, we need to trace down toward the root cause of WHY women are lacking to avail the better opportunities for themselves. Is it the societal conditioning for asking less for ourselves, or is it something to deal with the required courage to desire the best possible?
Think of it as, when there’s pain in any particular body part, it is not mandatory that to operate that part of body only. Because pain is just a symptom and not the root cause. To find the root cause, we get it tested thoroughly and carefully so that we can address it efficiently.
So in a nutshell, whether it’s lack of opportunities for career advancement or any other from the mentioned, these all are mere symptoms while the root cause is the “mindset” of a whole society and not the gender-specific individuals.
