India’s judicial administration system has many bottlenecks including delay in justice delivery.

Reasons for delayed justice 

1) High pendency of cases :

There are more than 4 crore cases pending in India’s judiciary.

2) Administrative Red tapism:

Highly complicated and lengthy procedures in accessing justice delivery.

3) Administrative Negligence :

Negligence in evidence maintenance and associated prolongation of                   criminal cases and delay in filing FIR.

4) Lack of sufficient alternate dispute redressal institutions.

Institutions such as gram Nyayalayas have not been implemented properly. People don’t seek alternate dispute redressal mechanisms soon.

5) Population growth

India surpassed China to become the most populous country.High           population naturally has led to High litigations adding to burden of the judiciary. Improved legal awareness   through legal literacy.

6) Lack of enough judges and delay in appointment process  of judges in higher judiciary.

7) Very low budgetary support to judiciary which amounts to less than 0.1% in India when compared to other developing countries
