Introducting the particular natural gas deposits to the borders of Asia and the equator regions, the estimated gas hydrates lays more resource across the Krishna, Godavari, Mahanadi, and Andaman basins. The primary benefit includes increasing regions energy security while reducing the amount of gas imports and meeting additional future energy necessities, thus stimulating the economy by creating more local, job opportunities on the coasts and cutting down exchange(currency) outflows. Apart from these regions being economically diverse, on an environmental standpoint, it would be the ideal setting for them as coal and fossil fuels will be due in the near future, thus starting India’s energy transition more smoothly. All energy sources however, use them sparingly. The resources do have certain limitations however, which are quite complex in merging with the eco-system, methane leakage along with underwater terrains serve as an example. Not too far off, such energy sources are quite unstable in normal atmosphere and temperature conditions hence safety is always the priority. Even though they do have potential in resolving issues for fishing communities, the start up investments needed are quite high and uncertain making the commencement difficult. Specific commercial production especially on an extensive level has not been achieved, bringing us back to the start point.
