Deep Learning (DL) and Machine Learning (ML) are both subfields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), but they have distinct differences:
Machine Learning (ML)
Deep Learning (DL)
Machine Learning is like teaching a computer to make decisions based on data. Imagine you have a friend who loves guessing games. You show them lots of pictures of cats and dogs, and over time, they get really good at telling which is which. That’s machine learning! The computer learns from examples you give it.
Deep Learning is a special kind of machine learning, but on a much larger scale. Think of it like having a super-brain friend who not only looks at lots of cat and dog pictures but also learns to recognize them by looking at every tiny detail, like fur patterns and ear shapes. This super-brain uses structures called neural networks, which are inspired by the human brain. These networks have many layers (hence “deep” learning), allowing the computer to understand complex patterns and features.
So, in short:
Both are cool, but deep learning is like machine learning on steroids!
