According to him,Social democracy was the way of life that recognizes the values of liberty, equality and fraternity with an aim to address the socio economic inequalities of India during his time.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar envisioned social democracy as a system that transcends mere political rights to encompass social equality and justice. For him, true democracy must ensure that all citizens, regardless of caste, creed, or economic status, have equal opportunities and rights. Ambedkar critiqued the deeply entrenched caste system in India and argued that political democracy without social equality would be meaningless. He advocated for the upliftment of marginalized communities and emphasized the importance of education and economic empowerment. Thus, his concept of social democracy aimed at creating an inclusive society where everyone could participate fully and benefit from democratic governance.
